Oracle Practice · Full-time

Oracle Database Administrator

On-site · Client locations in New York, Kentucky, Maryland & other states (by engagement)

About the role

You will own production Oracle database environments behind enterprise applications — including PeopleSoft and other mission systems — on public-sector programs. Availability, performance, security, and recoverability are the job: the systems you run process payroll, payments, and services people depend on.

What you'll do

  • Administer production and non-production Oracle databases (19c+): builds, patching, upgrades, and refreshes.
  • Own backup and recovery with RMAN — tested, documented, and rehearsed, not assumed.
  • Monitor and tune performance: AWR/ASH analysis, SQL tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery (Data Guard; RAC where deployed).
  • Harden databases to security baselines; support audits with evidence-quality configuration and access reviews.
  • Support application teams (PeopleSoft, custom apps) with environment management, migrations, and troubleshooting.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of production Oracle DBA experience.
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL; comfortable at the Linux command line with shell scripting.
  • Hands-on RMAN backup/recovery and patching experience (OPatch/autoupgrade).
  • Performance tuning experience you can walk through concretely.
  • Experience in public-sector or similarly controlled environments.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP).
  • Data Guard, RAC, or GoldenGate in production.
  • PeopleSoft or Oracle EBS database administration experience.
  • Exposure to OCI or AWS RDS for Oracle.
